Action Plan to Maximize Academic Language in Development for 7th CTE 1. We continue to practice defining key words (fill-in-the-blank or matching) as guided notes activities, but I will try having students to interact with each other in small groups of 4 to practice using key words.  For example, using Newrow breakout rooms or Engageli tables with the directive that students talk about "clusters" covered thus far in CTE and the "pathways" we explored this week in Arts, Audio-Visual Technology, and Communication.   Thoughts on incorporating language goals into my lesson planning...I cover vocabulary, but I don't explicitly state that our objectives are to fully understand what the key terms mean and how they will reoccur in future units.  I will continue to use Classkick as a sentence starter/fill-in-the-blank/graphic organizer tool for students to use with key words.  My goal next week (February 18th - 21st) will be to make an assignment with previous unit terms from Sem1 to determine student retention.
Initial PLC thoughts- I am excited to learn from and with other educators who I would not have interacted with otherwise. While I have learned about UDL in PDs and in my master's program, I am eager to learn more applicable ways of enhancing my teaching.
